Launching dinghies from Aquila Power Catamarans is more convenient than ever. A U.S. patent was recently approved, and plans are to expand the use of the dinghy davit retractable crane system on future models beyond the Aquila 42 Yacht and Aquila 54 Yacht. This innovative system allows for the full use of the system when a dinghy needs to be lowered or retrieved and for the arm to be concealed when it is not in use.
Since most davits can take up a considerable amount of deck space on a boat or yacht and impair views and the aesthetics of the unit itself, traditional crane systems can be unappealing. With comprehensive planning and ingenious tact, design engineers at Aquila have solved that problem with a fully retractable arm to extend only when needed and stay secured and out of sight within the internal deck. This custom assembly is sturdy and built using a series of roller bearing tracks, pulleys, and electrical/manual winches to perform the process when initiated.
Aquila is proud of its innovations and the quality of work behind all products. Now that this specialized patent is approved, it will be incorporated into other models accordingly. We look forward to continuing to add exciting new features and improving current ones to help make the most of your overall boating experience.
